Brazil just went legal

Just read that Brazil is finally fully regulating online casinos and sports betting. Like actually doing it. This has been talked about for years and it's actually happening now.

The market is absolutely massive, I can't even wrap my head around how many new players this brings in. Every big operator is going to want a piece of this and that usually means more competition, better bonuses, more games being pushed out.

Anyone else following this? Feels like a pretty big deal for the whole industry tbh

Been following this for a while. Brazil has been "about to regulate" for like 3 years straight so honestly didn't believe it until now. Glad it's finally real

The size of that market is insane. You have to think operators are going to be throwing money at acquisitions and new platforms just to get a foothold there.

More competition between operators is always good for us as players. More casinos fighting for your deposit = better bonuses and promotions. Simple as that.

curious which providers are going to localise properly for brazil and which ones just slap a portuguese translation on their existing site and call it a day

Pragmatic Play must be rubbing their hands together right now. They already have huge reach in latin america so they're perfectly positioned for this.

what i want to know is whether this opens up more payment options globally. when big markets regulate it tends to push things forward for everyone

The grey market there was massive already. There were millions of brazilians playing on unlicensed sites so this just brings it all into the open really

Also means more game studios targeting brazilian players. Expect a lot of carnival and football themed slots dropping in the next 12 months lol.

honestly more interested in what happens to player protections. regulated market should mean safer gambling but depends entirely on how they enforce it

Netent, Evolution, Pragmatic… they're all going to be scrambling for licenses. Evolution especially with live casino being so popular in latin american markets.

big news but let's see how long the licensing process actually takes. These things always move slower than the announcements suggest

Either way it's a win for the industry long term. More regulated markets means more legitimate operators and less shady sites. Hopefully...
