saw this about Colombia and the gambling tax going to healthcare and genuinely think it's one of the more sensible things a government can do with that kind of revenue. like the money is coming in regardless so why not direct it somewhere that actually helps people. Coljuegos, Colombia's gambling regulatory authority, has been doing it for years and now there's pressure to increase the transfers. honestly good. more of this will make the world a better place (y)
 
This is actually a really smart way to handle gambling revenue. The money is going to come in regardless so directing it toward healthcare just makes sense. Wish more governments thought like this
 
Been saying for a while that the gambling industry gets a bad rep but stuff like this shows it can actually contribute something real to society and Colombia is doing it right
 
the fact that this has been running for years and is now being expanded is a good sign. not just a PR move it's actually built into how they fund the health sector.
 
other regulators should genuinely look at this model. gambling taxes going to healthcare is one of those ideas that just makes too much sense to ignore
