Genuinely tried to explain slot mechanics to someone yesterday. Started confident, mentioned RNG, said something about volatility, then just kind of stopped. The person looked at me like I was explaining something and I was not explaining anything. Been playing for years and I could not tell you what actually happens when you press spin
 
I have had this exact conversation. Got as far as "the reels are basically just for show" and then realized I had no idea what came after that.
 
the RNG explanation is the move because it sounds correct and nobody can really argue with it. beyond that we're all just guessing =))
 
Honestly I think most people who work at casinos couldn't explain it properly either. It's just a thing that happens and we all agree to accept it lmao
 
The volatility explanation is where I always lose people. High volatility means bigger wins less often low volatility means smaller wins more often and then they ask which one is better and I just say depends and walk away. That's the move!
