Do you watch slot streamers?

Wondering how many people here actually watch streaming content and whether it genuinely changes what you load up. I've caught myself opening a slot purely because someone hit big on it the night before, which I know makes no sense. Do you watch streamers, and has a streamer ever actually put you onto something good?
 
i watch occasionally but i made a rule for myself not to open a game the same day i see a big hit on it. that dopamine chase is real.
 
Streamers genuinely put me onto a few games I would never have tried. Saw someone play Mental by Nolimit City and immediately wanted to try it. Whether that's good or bad is another question.
 
The problem is streamers play with budgets that completely change how variance feels. Watching someone spin at 100x your stake and get a 1000x doesn't tell you anything about your experience at your stakes.
 
this. the stake size thing is so misleading. a bonus that looks massive on stream is a 200 euro win for them and would be 2 euro for me.
 
I watch for entertainment mostly. Stopped letting it influence what I play after I chased a streamer hit twice in a row and got nothing both times. Lesson learned.
 
A streamer has actually put me into smth good. Found a couple of Play'n GO titles that way I genuinely enjoy. But I also went through a phase of just playing whatever was on stream and it cost me.
 
do streamers even play on normal stakes though? feels like everything is max bet which makes it unwatchable for me as an actual reference
 
Some do play at lower stakes and those are the only ones I find useful for game discovery. High roller streams are just entertainment, nothing transferable.
 
got put onto Wanted Dead or a Wild by a streamer and that genuinely was a good recommendation. still one of my favourite slots now.
 
I think the bigger issue is that streamers only show the good sessions. Nobody tunes in to watch 3 hours of dead spins so you get a completely skewed picture of how a slot actually plays.
 
Exactly. Survivorship bias on what sessions even get streamed, and then confirmation bias on which clips get clipped and shared. By the time a slot reaches your feed the variance has been filtered out twice.
 
never thought about it that way but thats a really good point. the slot looks different on stream because the boring sessions dont exist publicly
 
I watch a lot of streams but mainly to see new mechanics explained. Actually seeing a bonus play out is more useful than reading a paytable for me.
 
That's the legitimate use case for streaming content in my opinion. Game discovery and mechanic explanation. Using it to decide where variance is running hot is just superstition.
 
had a streamer recommend a slot that ended up being one of the most boring games ive ever played. great hit rate, nothing ever paid anything. looked decent on stream though
 
I stopped watching completely about a year ago and honestly my sessions feel more like my own now. Wasn't conscious of how much it was shaping what I loaded up until I stopped.
 
The affiliate angle is worth keeping in mind too. A lot of streamers are pushing specific casinos and games for reasons that have nothing to do with whether the game is actually good.
