It’s actually one of the oldest (and still running) multinational lotteries. It was the first European multinational lottery, launched in 1991. Players from Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Slovenia and Sweden can bet on it.
The lotteries are held in the above mentioned countries by:
- Danske Spil

- Veikkaus
The tickets for this lottery can only be purchased at local agencies in the countries that participate in the draw. The jackpot starts at $3 million and goes up to $35 million. The draws happen once a week, on Wednesdays, at 20:00 CET in Norway.
To play the game you must pick six out of 48 numbers and an extra number. To win the jackpot you must get 6 numbers right and the Viking number. The odds of getting the jackpot are of 1 in 14024585. Even so, you can get smaller prizes, starting from just three numbers and 1 Viking number. The chances of getting the three numbers and the Viking number correct are 1 in 427.
Only the jackpot and the second-tier prizes are the same in all participating countries, the others are decided nationally.
