Tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you and what is your role at NSoft?

I am Jadranko Dragoje, and as the Managing Director for Games at NSoft company, I am currently in charge of overseeing the development of virtual games and casino products. I joined NSoft eight years ago as a software developer, and I have since been promoted to the position of Managing Director, a role I have held for almost three years now.

How did you first start in the gambling industry? What were the initial challenges?

Back in the day, I was employed by a large insurance company while also owning a small development company on the side. NSoft, on the other hand, was expanding and looking to bring in new talent, including myself and my colleagues from the private sector, as well as acquire a company. At the time, NSoft was a rapidly growing company, and the opportunity to work on more complex systems than I had previously worked on was a major draw. However, transitioning to a new work environment and culture was a challenge, coming from a more rigid insurance industry to a more relaxed, “work hard, play hard” atmosphere at NSoft. Once I got past the initial culture shock, the journey was relatively smooth sailing, with a few minor bumps along the way.

With so many game studios on the market, what do you think is the biggest differentiator for NSoft?

Like many industries, innovation is the key differentiator in the casino market. As an established virtual games provider, we recently ventured into the casino industry with three main objectives in mind. Firstly, to leverage our expertise in virtual games to produce casino games that build on our existing knowledge. Secondly, to create entirely new casino games with unique mechanics that are not currently available in the market. Finally, we also aimed to develop classic casino games to compete with the existing offerings in the market.

Firstly, we developed Slingshot Six, a casino version of our popular game Lucky Six. Additionally, we are continuously producing slot games to keep up with the market demand for classic slots, collect and cascade slots. In terms of innovation, we introduced Smash Drops, which features a brand new prize drop mechanic, as well as innovative bonus games for our slots.

Another factor that sets us apart from others is our fast and agile in-house development team. This allows us to offer custom game development services to our customers, providing them with unique and tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.

Can you please tell us what is the slot with the Biggest Wins from NSoft? We are sure our readers would like to give it a spin, if they haven’t already.

After analyzing the data from last year and the first quarter of this year, we found that our most popular slot – Temple of Horus – also produced the biggest wins. Additionally, we observed that adventure-themed slots, such as Book of Voodoo and Pyramid of the Sun, were among the most popular with our players. In response to this trend, we are getting ready to launch Book of Rings – a slot with a unique collect mechanic and brand new collect bonus game. We believe that this game will be a massive success with our players.

What are your top 3 favorite slots from NSoft? Can you please tell us the reasons behind your choices?

Being a movie enthusiast, my favorite slot would definitely have to be Vice Nights. Its clean graphics and simple mechanics are appealing, and it reminds me of all the fantastic noir films I enjoyed as a teenager. Alongside Vice Nights, I have two other favorites that aren’t technically slots – Slingshot Six and Smash Drops. I particularly enjoy the draw-based mechanics of Slingshot Six, while Smash Drops has innovative gameplay and engaging mechanics that make it a personal favorite.

What is the most important aspect of a slot from your perspective?

This mainly comes down to personal preference. From my perspective, a slot game should have a paytable that is easy to understand, yet offers the potential for high payouts. It should also have engaging features, such as a progress bar. Personally, I enjoy playing high volatility games. However, the most important aspect of any slot game is that it provides an enjoyable and engaging experience for the player.

Is there any way to predict if a slot is going to be a hit or not?

In short, no, there is no guaranteed way to predict whether a slot will be successful or not. However, several factors can assist in assessing a game’s potential for success. Before creating a new game, we analyze similar games in the market. However, this is not the case for games with mechanics not yet known to the market. In such cases, we imagine what players might enjoy and use the statement “if it’s fun for us, it’ll be fun for players.” While this statement isn’t always accurate, we keep trying until we find something that will disrupt the market. Afterward, we attempt to replicate that success.

Looking to the future, what is the next big release NSoft is planning?

In our development pipeline, we have upcoming releases such as cascade mechanic slots, roulette with unique and powerful bonus games, and a new game utilizing our prize drop mechanic. In addition to developing slots, we are also updating our Boost gamification service to support tournaments and quests. These updates will enhance the player experience for both our casino and virtual games.

Do you have any advice for those who would like to work in the gambling/e-gaming industry?

I’m usually hesitant to give advice, but I can say that the e-gaming industry is one of the most innovative industries for software developers and product managers, much like the game industry. There are always new challenges and opportunities since failing to innovate can lead to obsolescence in a very short period of time. Additionally, the systems used in e-gaming are highly complex, which provides a unique opportunity for developers to advance their skills and knowledge in this environment.

If you weren’t in the gambling industry, what other industry would you want to work in?

It is difficult to make a definite decision as the tech world has been largely captivated by AI. However, industries related to finance that incorporate advanced algorithms and data quality in financial institutions would be of great interest. While security is also an area that piques my interest, at the moment, I find my current work in the e-gaming industry to be the most fascinating and fulfilling.

Is there anything you would like to transmit to those who support NSoft, before we say goodbye?

Please stay updated with our latest developments as we have exciting new games coming out of our factory. I want to express my gratitude to all of our current partners for their unwavering support and confidence in our team.
