Withdrawals and KYC verification

Nobody mentions KYC when you're signing up and depositing. The process is smooth, takes two minutes, you're playing straight away. Then you try to withdraw for the first time and suddenly they need your ID, proof of address, bank statement, source of funds and whatever else they can think of. Would it kill them to mention this upfront so it's not a complete surprise the first time it happens...?
 
happened to me on my first ever withdrawal. had no idea KYC was even a thing. thought my account had been flagged for something
 
Standard nowadays unfortunately, every licensed site has to do it at some point. Still annoying that they wait until you try to withdraw before asking though.
 
The timing is what gets me. They're happy to take your deposit instantly but the moment you want money back it suddenly requires a full documentation review.
 
immune to it now. just send the docs and wait. used to stress about it but its the same process everywhere..
 
Source of funds request is where I draw the line. ID and proof of address fine, but asking me to justify where my money comes from feels excessive for a small withdrawal, if it was over 1,000 maybe i would've understood, but for something like $10 nope.
 
@wyatt31 Source of funds kicks in above certain thresholds usually, it's an AML requirement not something the casino invented. Annoying but it's regulation not them being difficult.
 
The part that frustrates me is when you've already verified once and then months later they ask again because your proof of address has expired. You'd think verification would be a one time thing.
 
KYC re-verification is actually a compliance requirement at certain intervals or when account activity triggers a review. It's not the casino being obstructive, it's regulators requiring ongoing due diligence.
 
First time it happened to me I genuinely thought I was being scammed. No warning, withdrawal pending, email asking for documents. Took me a while to understand it was normal.
 
should be mandatory to show a KYC notice during registration. one paragraph explaining what will be required before your first withdrawal. would save so much confusion
 
Some sites actually do this now. Saw one recently with a clear note during signup that verification will be required before withdrawals are processed. More should do it.
