Evolution might get taken private

Turns out a billionaire investor has been quietly buying up Evolution shares and just crossed 30% ownership, which under Swedish law means he now has to either launch a full takeover bid or sell down. Evolution is the studio behind basically all the live dealer games and if this goes through and they get taken private the question is what actually changes for us players...

From a player perspective Evolution going private or staying public doesn't change much in the short term. The live dealer product is the product regardless of who owns the equity. The games still need to be certified, the tables still run the same way.

That's a comfortable take but I'd push back on it. Public companies answer to shareholders, file audited reports, and face analyst scrutiny every quarter. The moment you take that away you lose the only independent layer of oversight that isn't a regulator. For a company running live dealer infrastructure across most of the regulated internet that matters quite a bit more than whether your blackjack hand resolves correctly.

Honestly don't buy the accountability argument. Evolution is still licensed in every major regulated market. Going private doesn't change a single one of those obligations. The drama around who owns the shares is a distraction from what actually affects players which is none of this.
