It means over millions of spins the average lands around there. You can go 300 spins without a trigger and still be within normal variance. The game isn't broken, it isn't cold, the previous spins have no memory and no influence on what comes next. Once I actually understood that I stopped making decisions based on how long I'd been waiting and my sessions got a lot less stressful.

This is one of the most important things any slot player can understand. Each spin is an independent event. The machine has no memory of what happened before. Waiting for a bonus because you haven't had one in 200 spins is the gambler's fallacy and it costs people real money.

@ethan_spin that's completely normal. understanding variance intellectually and feeling it emotionally are two different things. the goal is just to not let the feeling change your decisions
