Funny how the people playing just for fun are always the last to go

The people who say they only play for fun are always the last ones still at the table. Not judging, just an observation. The fun crowd somehow always outlasts everyone else.

In fairness having fun and staying long aren't mutually exclusive, some people genuinely enjoy it and that's why they stay, doesn't have to mean anything more than that.

unpopular but I think most people at a casino are there for fun and the ones who stay long just genuinely enjoy the environment, not everyone who stays late is in denial about something

@LeoSlots the environment argument is real, casinos are designed to be comfortable and timeless, no clocks no windows, the architecture is doing as much work as anything else

the just for fun line is also the socially acceptable version of why you're there, nobody wants to say I'm here because I think I'm going to win tonight even if that's closer to the truth

There's a version of it that's completely genuine though, I have sessions where I set a small amount aside specifically to enjoy the game with no expectation of profit and I stop when it's gone, that's actually just fun.

The interesting version of this is online where there's no social pressure to stay, you can close the tab any time with nobody watching, and yet the just for fun crowd still stays long, so it's not the environment doing all the work
