Live or standard blackjack?

Started playing live dealer blackjack a few months ago, and I can't really go back to the regular version. Waiting for the cards, watching someone actually deal, just feels more real.

Do you prefer live or standard?

Live for blackjack and roulette, standard for slots, they serve completely different purposes for me and I don't think one replaces the other

Standard. Live dealer pace drives me insane, waiting for other players to make decisions when I already know what I want to do is not relaxing it's just slow.

live roulette changed how I think about the game entirely, watching the wheel actually spin instead of an animation is a completely different experience and I didn't expect it to matter as much as it does

The dealers on some of these live tables are genuinely entertaining, had one at Evolution who was just brilliant at keeping the table atmosphere going, made a losing session feel fine which is no small thing.

@jack42 the pace thing is real but I'd argue it's actually useful, forces you to slow down and think rather than just clicking through hands automatically, which is probably why I lose less on live than standard

Live blackjack specifically is the only version I play now, the social element of it even through a screen is enough to make it feel like an actual experience rather than just clicking buttons

Evolution Gaming basically built the live casino category into what it is today and the production quality on their tables is genuinely impressive, the immersive roulette studio especially, but it does come at a cost because the house edge on some of their game show titles is brutal

tried live dealer twice and both times felt self conscious about the camera even though I know the dealer can't see me, irrational but it put me off

The interesting thing about live dealer is that it reintroduced the social element that online casino completely removed, and for a lot of players that social element was actually part of what they liked about gambling in the first place.
