Do you play better alone or does it not actually matter. I've had sessions where someone sitting next to me completely threw me off and others where it made no difference at all. Not sure what that says about me.
Alone every time. the moment someone is watching I start making decisions I wouldn't normally make and I can't tell if it's performance or just nerves.
Alone without question, having someone around who doesn't gamble is the worst because they start asking questions mid spin and the questions are always at the exact wrong moment.
my girlfriend watches me sometimes and I genuinely play worse, not because of her specifically just the awareness of being observed makes me second guess everything I'd normally do automatically.
I actually play better with a friend around, having someone to talk through a session with keeps me from making stupid impulsive decisions, the social element slows me down in a good way.
alone, always, it's not even a preference it's just how I've always done it and the idea of someone watching feels genuinely uncomfortable for reasons I can't fully explain.
Depends on the game for me. Slots I don't care either way but if I'm playing poker or blackjack I need complete focus and anyone in the room is a distraction whether they mean to be or not.
Alone, I've tried playing with friends watching and it always turns into them having opinions about what I should do and I don't need that energy during a session.
never thought about this before but reading through the replies I think I genuinely don't know, I've only ever played alone so I have no comparison point.
With someone around as long as they're also playing, two people watching the same screen with no stake in it just creates a weird pressure that doesn't help anyone.
Alone is better for me. The session is already a conversation between me and the game and adding a third party to that just makes everything more complicated than it needs to be )
Doesn't affect how I play at all but I've noticed I quit earlier when someone is around, like the session naturally has a more defined end point when there's another person in the room.
I play mostly alone but I've had some genuinely great sessions with a friend around. The ones where you're both invested in what's happening and celebrating together. Those are hard to beat honestly.
