Reviews or just dive in

Be honest, do you actually read slot reviews before trying a new game or do you just see something that looks interesting and start spinning. Because I have never once read a review before playing something, and I'm not sure it's ever cost me anything meaningful

I read reviews but only after I've already played it, which I know makes no sense but I like comparing what I experienced to what other people said, it's more interesting that way

Depends on the stake I'm planning to play it at honestly, if I'm going in at low bets just to try it then no, if I'm planning a proper session I'll at least check the RTP and volatility beforehand.

never, the reviews are always written by people who either love everything or hate it because they had one bad session, neither is useful to me

I check the RTP and volatility on new games, that's it, I don't need someone's opinion on the theme or whether the animations are nice, just tell me the numbers.

tried reading reviews for about two months and found it made absolutely no difference to how my sessions went so I stopped, some things are just random regardless of how much research you do beforehand

Always read them, always have, the bonus buy feature reviews specifically because that's where I spend most of my time and knowing the average cost to land the feature versus the average payout is actually useful information.

just dive in every time, reading about a slot is not the same as playing it and I'd rather form my own opinion in the first ten minutes than go in with someone else's expectations already in my head

The problem with reviews is everyone's experience is shaped by variance, someone can call a slot dead because they had ten bad sessions on it and someone else calls it incredible because they hit on the third spin, neither is wrong but neither is useful either.

quick check of the volatility and that's my entire research process, high volatility I know what I'm getting into, low volatility I adjust my expectations, anything beyond that feels like overthinking it.

never once read a review and I've been playing for years, I think if you lose on a slot you were going to lose regardless of what a review told you going in

I watch someone play it on YouTube for about three minutes, not a review exactly just want to see the actual gameplay before I commit, reading about it doesn't tell me anything the visuals wouldn't in thirty seconds.

Read reviews religiously for about a year when I first started and then slowly stopped as I realised my own taste in slots had nothing to do with what reviewers valued, now I just try things and decide for myself.

the honest answer is I read them when I'm bored and looking for something new to try, not because I think they'll help me win but because it's part of how I find out what's out there, more discovery tool than research
