Slots that look amazing but play like garbage

You know the ones. Incredible art, great music, smooth animations and then you actually play it and the hit frequency is awful, the bonus is underwhelming, or the mechanic just doesn't work. Visuals clearly got all the budget. What are your biggest offenders, slots-wise?
 
Immortal Romance remake. The original had charm and the new version looks polished but something about how it plays feels completely off. Base game is just dead spins with a fancy coat of paint.
 
any slot with a big cinematic intro that takes 30 seconds to skip is already on thin ice for me before i even spin.
 
I think the issue is studios spending budget on licensing or art direction and then the math model gets rushed. You can feel it in how the game plays.
 
Exactly this. The math model is what you're actually playing. Everything else is just the wrapper. Some games have an incredible wrapper around a completely mediocre game engine.
 
ive been burned enough times now that i watch gameplay before depositing on anything new. dont care how good the trailer looks.
 
Watching actual low stakes gameplay before trying a slot has saved me so much money. Real sessions show you the dead spins the trailers obviously leave out.
