Slots where the base game is actually worth playing

Most slots these days feel like you're just waiting for the bonus. Dead spins, dead spins, trigger, that's the whole game. But some titles actually have a base game worth being in, like decent hit frequency, interesting mechanics, stuff happening on screen that isn't just watching reels go by. What are your picks? Doesn't have to be a high roller thing, just slots where you don't feel like you're killing time between bonuses.

Reactoonz 2 for me. The base game has so much going on with the fluctometer and cascades that I genuinely enjoy it even without hitting the cluster pays bonus. Rare to say that about a slot.

Dead or Alive 2 base game is actually decent if you like the sticky wilds mechanic. Every spin feels like it could go somewhere even outside the free spins.

Most people sleep on the Wanted Dead or a Wild base game. The sheriff mechanic triggers often enough that you're not just watching blank spins go by.

Jammin Jars is one I keep coming back to for the base game. Rainbow wilds dropping in randomly keeps it interesting. Hits often enough that sessions don't feel completely dead.

Honestly Sugar Rush surprised me. Base game hit rate is solid and the multiplier build up before a bonus actually makes those spins feel like they matter.

I'd say any slot with a strong tumble or cascade mechanic tends to have a better base game by default. At least something is happening on screen. Static reel slots with nothing going on between bonuses are unplayable to me.

Temple Tumble from Relax Gaming. Cascades in the base game can actually pay decent on their own and the mechanic is fun to watch even when it doesn't go anywhere big.
