Got a 5 scatter on Spinman and it paid 800x. is that normal

First ever 5 scatter and it had to land on Spinman and pay 800x. I sat there thinking the game had glitched because I've had standard 3 scatter bonuses pay more than that. Is this actually possible or did something go wrong? Feels like the worst outcome I could have imagined for a 5 scatter.
 
that's just gambling mate, no outcome is guaranteed no matter how many scatters you land. i've had a single base game spin pay more than a full bonus before
 
800x on a 5 scatter is rough but it's possible, sometimes the bonus just doesn't connect and there's nothing wrong with the game, it's variance doing what variance does
