Please tell us a bit about yourself. What is your role at Blue Guru Games?
I’m Andy Braithwaite, CEO and co-founder here. Nice to chat with you.
How did you first start in the gambling industry? What were the initial challenges?
I’ve been in iGaming since 2007. Obviously, things have changed a lot since then. Coming from a journalistic and e-commerce background, it was fascinating to see the early online developments and get involved in such a vibrant and varied industry that has its own language and deeply passionate players. I loved it then and still do.
With so many game studios on the market, what do you think is the biggest differentiator for Blue Guru Games?
“We’re genuinely passionate about telling great stories with our games. We look for interesting or quirky stories and events from history, nonfiction, or something with a message, such as the ecological one contained within the upcoming game Otterly Amazing. It’s early for us, but we’re confident that will shine through as our portfolio grows.
Please tell us more about Otterly Amazing.
It’s a really fun game. The otters lend themselves to a playful setting, and they’re amazing creatures, so there’s a lot you can do with them. Mechanically and mathematically, it’s our strongest title yet, and it has our usual Blue Guru high level of graphics, animations, and audio. The theme conveys an important message about the impact that we’re having on our planet, and we hope it makes people think about that, however briefly.
What are the features you think players will enjoy the most?
This one’s packed with features that all interplay really nicely. It has expanding mystery stacks, two scatter collectors that trigger expanded symbols, free games and multipliers, and a great bonus round. We think players will love this one.
Can you tell us what is the slot with the biggest wins from Blue Guru Games?
Napoleon Vs Rabbits is our most popular title to date. We don’t generally have crazy volatility, but we’ve seen a fair share of big wins, especially on Curse of the Mummies, which has our most volatile bonus round with huge multiplier potential.
What are your top three favorite slots from Blue Guru Games (and why)?
Napoleon Vs Rabbits, because it’s such a great story, and we think we did it justice with the retro visuals and soundtrack. Curse of the Mummies, as it was our debut release, and we’re very proud of the look and feel of that game. It’s always what’s coming up that’s the exciting bit, though, and with each release, we learn more and implement that into future titles. Otterly Amazing is the one we’ve all enjoyed playing the most by far.
Looking to the future, what’s the next big release Blue Guru Games is planning?
We have a lot going on within Blue Guru and the wider MGM group, so there’s a lot to come from us. Games-wise, we have some fantastic themes lined up – including a follow-up to Napoleon Vs Rabbits, with a similarly great historical story but which takes everything we learned from player feedback and brings it all together. That’s set to be our September release.
