Tell us a bit about yourself. What makes you, you; and why have you chosen to work at Felix Gaming?
I’ve worked in the casino industry for a long time – first, I was dealing with creating land-based slot machines and then at one point, I decided to switch my focus and turn my attention towards the online gaming industry. We founded Felix Gaming with the firm belief that we are capable of delivering some truly unique playing experience. And our land-based knowledge helps us a lot when it comes to creating one-of-a-kind gaming products.

In a market with hundreds of game studios, what would you say is Felix Gaming’s biggest differentiator?
I’ve already mentioned our land-based casino experience and knowledge – and that’s a big advantage we have over our competitors because it provides us with a great insight and customer feedback you simply can’t receive from the online gaming business. We know what the players like and we are giving it to them. Also, we use our own math models, making our payout patterns truly unique. And we invest a lot of resources into state-of-the-art graphics which completes the whole experience.
We would love to hear more about the slot creation process. Can you let us know which is the most exciting part of the entire process when creating a new slot?
I love every bit of the process – from coming up with the main theme to working with the design team, creating the exclusive features… Everything! It’s a great journey at the end of which we’re truly exhaused but also very satisfied. And nothing compares with the moment when the game is live! Then all these efforts you’ve invested throughout the whole process are totally worth it.
How can you tell if an online slot is going to be a hit or not?
Well, since you don’t have a crystall ball that could predict the future, you have to do two things: to know really well the industry – to follow the trends and keep your finger on the pulse – but also to trust your gut feeling. And that gut feeling and intuition is something you develop based on your previous experience and knowledge. It’s something you can’t measure but it’s so, so important in order for you to be successful. I like to say that creating a new game is like writing a song. It all starts with finding inspiration – and you can find it everywhere: while watching a movie or even eating some candies. Then you have to write the music, the script (or the text) and finally, it’s time to record it. And just like it’s the case with the songs, you never really know if a certain song will become a hit until people start to listen to it. If Fonsi knew how to come up with another hit of the Despacito magnitude, he would write it right now!
What are your hobbies?
First of all, I consider my job also a hobby – that’s how much I like it! Furthermore, I am a football fanatic and Juventus is my team. So whenever I have the chance I love to watch Juve in person – be it at a home game in Turin or away in the Champions League. It’s a fantastic emotion – just not when your team loses, haha. I also love to listen to some good music and I like snowboarding as well.
What has been your biggest challenge and your most significant success in the gambling industry?
For sure, the biggest challenge was, is and will be to make a name for yourself in a super competitive market. When I decided to create my own brand, I had to quit my job at a big company that already had a leading role in the online gaming industry. Nevertheless, I chose to take the risk instead of sticking to the safe option. And I dove into an industry where the competition is huge. In marketing terms it’s called Red Ocean – so many sharks are swimming, haha. But I’ve never been afraid of challenges and speaking of success, I’m really proud of the fact Felix Gaming has already established itself as a trustworthy partner for so many online casinos. I will never forget the moment when the first online casino uploaded our games. They had 4000+ games in total, with most of the gaming providers having 50+ titles each, whereas we had… just 3! I still have a screenshot picture of that moment on my mobile – to always remind me how it all started.
If you weren’t in the gambling industry, what other industry would you want to work in?
Well, I would love to be the next CEO of Juventus, for example! The entire board has recently resigned, so who knows – I might still get the job, haha!
