Tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you and what is your role at Four Leaf Gaming?

My name is Andy Hollis. I have worked in the gaming industry for over 15 years holding senior positions in several key areas including platform, game content and product.

In September 2021 we took the decision to leave the big corporate world and start Four Leaf Gaming. Looking to use the vast experience and knowledge gained over the years to bring the content to market that we as players want to play.

My role right now is a bit of everything. Most of my time is spent working with the team to create and develop the games from concept to delivery. Working with the mathematicians, artists, animators, sound engineers and developers to ensure the original vision for the game is delivered before engaging with our operators to showcase our latest games.

How did you first start in the gambling industry? What were the initial challenges?

I’m originally from the Isle of Man and always had a huge interest in the industry. Microgaming became the natural choice when I was fortunate enough to join them once I finished my degree.

I would say the main challenges back then were very similar to the challenges faced by suppliers and operators today.

There were significantly less content providers back then but it didn’t mean the competition wasn’t as fierce. There was a real need even back then to produce the most exciting, innovative and fun games for players each month.

I joined at a time where the world was starting to regulate. There was a huge adjustment from operating in the .com market to now having to work within the parameters set by regulators in each market.

With so many game studios on the market, what do you think is the biggest differentiator for Four Leaf Gaming?

From the very start we wanted to approach things differently. We had a wealth of experience and data on what worked and what didn’t from both established and market leading studios with decades of experience but also new emerging talent that has disrupted the industry in recent years.

Throughout the game design process, we put ourselves in the players shoes and make sure every decision we make puts the player first and hopefully you can see this in our games.

Probably the biggest thing that sets our games apart right now is our underlying currency that feeds into our industry first Game & Fortune lobby. This allows players to collect Fortune Coins during any standard spin that can then be redeemed across all of the games in our portfolio, either using the coins in full, part cash or all cash and all highly configurable per jurisdiction. Think of it as the players own loyalty wallet and they can spend as they see fit. Saving up coins for a rainy day or simply experiencing one of our innovative Game and Fortune features.

Can you please tell us what is the slot with the Biggest Wins from Four Leaf Gaming? We are sure our readers would like to give it a spin, if they haven’t already.

The biggest multiplier win we have seen was from a player hitting over €48,000 by triggering the Major Dream Drop jackpot on Dueling Jokers off a 25c spin so almost 200,000x!

We have also had several players hit the max win of 50,000x on Wild Buccaneers and Dueling Jokers. We are still waiting for our first player to climb the ladder in Fortune Maker and win the €1,000,000 but some have been close!

What are your top 3 favorite slots from Four Leaf Gaming? Can you please tell us the reasons behind your choices?

This one is easy as we have just 3 games live currently, with an action packed roadmap in 2023 with at least 8 new games being released, but they all bring something new and exciting for players to try whilst all being linked with our Game and Fortune mechanics.

Dueling Jokers Dream Drop – We were the first Relax partner to release a game linked to their massive Dream Drop Jackpot. We wanted to try and create something very unique and exciting for the jackpot game on this one. There are so many features packed into this game and it’s amazing to see it in the hands of players.

Wild Buccaneers Megaways – Our second release took the popular Megaways mechanic and built something that hadn’t been done before with a random multiplier trail each spin that can also trigger wild reels and free spins. This is probably my personal favorite of the 3.

Clover Fortunes – Our debut slot is probably our most striking visually. We introduced several core Game and Fortune Mechanics such as Bonus Booster that allows players to gamble all or some of their free spins and also Bonus Replay that gives players a second chance at a bonus round. We are looking forward to seeing new players giving it a spin for St Patrick’s day in a few months.

What is the most important aspect of a slot from your perspective?

First and foremost a slot game has to be fun to play. Fun can mean different things to different players which is why we build in an element of choice. The math design of a slot game is probably the biggest determining factor on the long-term appeal and therefore success of a slot game. We have some of the best mathematicians in the industry working with us who are amazing at bringing our crazy ideas into the real world.

Is there any way to predict if a slot is going to be a hit or not?

Unfortunately not. You tend to have a good idea on the games that will perform well before they are released based on experience and feedback from operators, however there are always some surprises when games perform better than expected or vice versa.

At Four Leaf Gaming we try and put a real emphasis on quality and won’t release a game until we have a level of certainty that the players will love playing it. For example, the game that was initially our debut title has been postponed more than once to ensure we get it right and I’m pleased to say it’s almost ready! We are really looking forward to that game going live later this year.

Looking to the future, what is the next big release Four Leaf Gaming is planning?

We have a huge 2023 planned with 8 games on the roadmap for release. I can’t say too much about them yet but we have some very exciting things planned for this year. There is a mix of popular mechanics and brand new innovative ideas combined with our special Four Leaf twists. We came here to disrupt the status quo and I think we will certainly do that with our releases this year.

Do you have any advice for those who would like to work in the gambling/ e-gaming industry?

Something a manager told me, six months is a long time in this industry, so if you have an eagerness to learn, and test yourself you could be obtaining a wealth of experience in a small window. No day in this industry and it moves fast! So whether internally, or externally, always look to challenge yourself and develop your CV.

If you weren’t in the gambling industry, what other industry would you want to work in?

I have always had a keen interest in video games so I would probably say I would be working in the traditional gaming industry if it wasn’t for gambling. Failing that it would be something involving mountain bikes or snowboards (or both).

Is there anything you would like to transmit to those who support Four Leaf Gaming, before we say goodbye?

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the operators, and players who have supported us so far. As we know, it’s hyper competitive so having the trust of our peers is something we don’t take for granted and remain humbled by. We hope the players enjoy playing our games as much as we do making them and we are eagerly waiting to showcase more of our concepts in the coming quarters.
