Why do you love working at Just For The Win?

Since starting in the gaming industry in 2011, I found it to be nothing like any other job I’ve ever had in my life. The people… the speed of working… the culture; I think that has shaped me as a human and also as a company founder and leader, trying to give back what I learned to new people.

Can you name the best three slots ever released by Just For The Win?

Deco Diamonds, Serengeti Gold and Western Gold.

Which slot takes the 2020 title of the best Just For The Win release?

Western Gold. We tried a new mechanic that really kept the players engaged, and we got a prize for it, and everyone loved it – and so did we!

Looking to the future, what is the next big release Just For The Win is planning?

Elven Gold – the last of the Gold series – will be released in Summer 2021.

In a market with hundreds of game studios, what would you say is Just For The Win’s biggest differentiator?

I think what makes us ‘us’ is that we try to play as many games as possible. We try to focus on what we think is a good game and not worry so much about what others think. We try to accommodate different markets and player types, and put our unique touch on games.

For you which is the most exciting part of the entire process when creating a new slot?

I think that the concept stage and the prototyping is great. Waking up early with an idea and taking it down to the math guy who then creates a prototype… and by lunchtime you play it and see how well it works (or not). That type of speed and agility is very rewarding.

What about any inside funny stories, do you have anything you can share with us?

I have loads, but I don’t think I can tell them!

How can you tell if an online slot is going to be a hit or not?

Well, usually it takes a couple of days, but we can measure different KPIs and within a week we can see and calculate if it really will be a hit or not. With slots it’s all about flow, it’s all about timing. We build on what works and try new things based on our collective experience.

What are your hobbies?

I have twins, so you need to make that your hobby! But I ride motocross. I ride mountain bikes and push bikes, and I do astrophotography – at night, obviously.

What has been your biggest challenge and your most significant success in the gambling industry?

The biggest challenge was when I started this company; I came fresh from many years at LeoVegas thinking I knew everything about how to run a company. This turned out not to be true, and it’s been a lot of hard work getting to where we are today having started as six people to now being 50 plus. It’s been a lesson of learning; I’ve learned a lot of things I never knew I needed to know! I think the success is coming out the other side, and after five years and realising… this time just flew past. We’ve done so much; we’ve accomplished a lot.

If you weren’t in the gambling industry, what other industry would you want to work in?

God’s honest truth, there isn’t one – there’s no other industry for me.
