Tell us a bit about yourself. What makes you, you; and why have you chosen to work at Swintt?
My name is David Mann and I am Chief Commercial Officer at Swintt. I have been working within the greater industry since 2008, starting in the retail betting shops back in Scotland. In 2019 I had the opportunity to take Swintt from the ground up and three years later, I’m still here and incredibly proud of the results we’ve achieved so quickly.
We noticed you are entering more regulated markets recently, can you give a quick summary of your markets?
We’ve been live with operators holding the MGA license since 2020, but we have been adding further regulated markets regularly and have a more global roadmap in line this year. Last year we launched in Sweden, recently we went live in Latvia, and with our land-based games being German in nature we have been compliant with German regulations since day
The Netherlands is our next market with a range of our games already certified and ready to go, and our first operator launching soon. It’s worth remembering our land-based slot games are also very popular across the gaming halls of the Netherlands as well as Germany, allowing our clients to quickly launch popular, familiar games into their online casinos.
You have an impressive slots portfolio, can you name the best three slots ever released by Swintt?
We are really proud of our Xtra branded features series and the games we have released lately with these features. The best performing game in our slot portfolio is Aloha Spirit XtraLock™ with a Tiki XtraLock™ feature and a max win of 200,500 x bet. Rock N Ways XtraWays™ is our second release with XtraWays™ feature, which offers up to 244,166 ways and which became very popular among the players, perhaps thanks to its max win of 25,000 x bet. The third top release is Book of the East, a v video slot with a beautiful design, a typical book feature, and our first game with buy feature.
2020 was a challenging year for all of us. Even so, Swintt had multiple releases. Which slot takes the 2020 title of the best Swintt release?
2020 was a challenging year indeed. However, it was also a positive year for Swintt, which celebrated its 1st anniversary. The most successful release was Wild Pharaoh, an Egyptian themed, 5×3 slot with a max win of up to 2480 x bet. We also rolled out the first of our German land-based slots to the online world, which included classic games like Master of Books and Extra Win – we saw a great reception on these games and they continue to be fan favourites among our partners.
Looking to the future, what is the next big release Swintt is planning?
In April, we will be launching a game in a collaboration with Vinnie Jones, The Crown. We are very excited about this release because of its stunning visuals and amazing mechanics, which take the players on a hunt for the royal jewels around London pubs. Stay tuned, this game will have a lot to offer!
In a market with hundreds of game studios, what would you say is Swintt ’s biggest differentiator?
At Swintt, we are all very passionate about creating not only games players love but also to providing them with games that connect to their experiences and culture. Among our portfolio, we have many games with a taste of local trends and preferences, such as land-based games popular across the Netherlands and Germany, as well as games inspired by mechanics and imagery from Japan, India, and beyond. We strive to increase player engagement through innovations in game design and retention tools. We would love to hear more about the slot creation process. Can you let us know which is the most exciting part of the entire process when creating a new slot?
The most exciting part is to come up with the mechanics for each game. We try to be creative and innovative, and with our suite of Xtra features, we are bringing something new to the players with many of our games.
How can you tell if an online slot is going to be a hit or not?
This is probably the most exciting part of our business. If we knew, which game will be a hit, we’d all be taking the same direction. However, with the younger generation of players, we learned that high volatile slots with huge max wins are very popular, and therefore we decided to release Aloha Spirit XtraLock with a max win of up to 200,500 x win, and it proved to be a hit.
